The Journey into God’s Purpose

At #KC9 we continued our special 1 Year Anniversary Series, The Journey into God’s Purpose.

Following #KC8, where we explored the foundation of Kingdom First, this session moved into the next part of the journey: learning how God leads, how we recognise His voice, how He prepares us, and how we trust Him when the full picture is not yet clear.

Hosted by John Adjei, the evening was a conversational Q&A with Amanda Blankson, CEO of Kingdom Conversations. Together, we reflected on what it means to keep seeking, listening and obeying as God leads us into purpose, one step at a time.

Session Focus

We explored a question many believers wrestle with:

How do I know God is speaking, and how do I recognise His leading?

The discussion centred on the truth that God’s voice is not always dramatic or loud. Often, His leading is consistent, gentle and confirmed over time through His Word, peace, wise counsel, people, repeated promptings, circumstances and even closed doors.

Amanda shared how God began leading her through repeated promptings, people speaking into her life, and the Word of God ministering clearly to her. What began as a personal journey of listening and obedience eventually became part of the journey that led to Kingdom Conversations.

Key Themes from #KC9

1. Learning to Listen

Drawing from Isaiah 30:21, we reflected on how God desires to guide His people:

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” Isaiah 30:21

A key message from the session was that listening to God is not only about hearing a voice. It is about posture, being available, attentive and willing to obey.

Amanda shared how God’s leading became clear through repeated promptings, people confirming what He had already placed on her heart, and the Word bringing clarity around purpose, service, impact and Kingdom responsibility.

2. Seasons of Preparation

Drawing from Jeremiah 29:11, we considered how God prepares us long before we fully understand where He is leading.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

The session explored how preparation does not always feel like preparation when we are in it. Sometimes it feels uncomfortable, humbling, stretching or corrective.

Amanda shared how God used His Word, mentorship, solitude, life experiences and moments of humility to build resilience, discipline, depth and a greater dependence on Him.

What We Reflected On

  • God’s leading is often consistent, not always dramatic.
  • Listening to God requires posture, availability and obedience.
  • The Word of God remains the most reliable way to discern His voice.
  • God often gives enough light for the next step, not always the whole road.
  • Preparation can happen through ordinary, uncomfortable and humbling experiences.
  • God prepares us in layers, through His Word, structure, solitude, people and life experiences.
  • Purpose is not only about what we do, it is also about who we are becoming.
  • Trust is built one obedient step at a time, not one giant leap.

A Moment of Reflection

One of the key reflections from #KC9 was that preparation does not always feel like preparation when we are in it.

  • Sometimes it feels like pressure.
  • Sometimes it feels like humility.
  • Sometimes it feels like discipline.
  • Sometimes it feels like being stretched in ways we did not expect.

But God is intentional. He knows what He is building in us, and He prepares us for what He has called us into, even when we do not realise it at the time.

Community Reflections

The session created space for the KC community to reflect, respond and share. There were contributions around how God speaks, how we learn to hear Him, and the importance of allowing the Word of God to shape how we think, respond and live.

A recurring theme from the evening was that God often prepares us privately before He uses us publicly, and that obedience can require us to step forward even when we do not feel fully ready.

  • Am I paying attention to the way God may already be guiding me?
  • Where have I been waiting for something dramatic, when God may already be speaking consistently?
  • What is God using in my current season to prepare me?
  • Am I allowing the Word of God to shape how I think, respond and live?
  • What am I finding difficult to trust God with?
  • What step of obedience might God be asking me to take next?

The Journey Continues

#KC9 reminded us that the journey into God’s purpose is not only about reaching a destination. It is about becoming more attentive to God’s voice, more rooted in His Word, and more willing to be shaped by Him.

God may not show the full picture all at once, but He is faithful to lead us step by step. As we continue the anniversary series, we carry this encouragement forward:

Keep seeking. Keep listening. Keep obeying. God is still preparing you for what He has called you into.
